If you are bringing a spouse and/or children with you to South Korea, you may need to apostille your marriage license and/or the birth certificates of your children.Â

Getting your FBI background check and any other federally issued documents apostilled:
- This document does not require notarization and must be taken to the Department of State to be apostilled.
Getting your diploma or other personal document apostilled:
- Personal documents such as your diploma will need to be notarized before apostille. A certified copy of your diploma is usually adequate for apostille, which can be created by a local notary.
- After the notary has made a certified copy and notarized it as such, take it to the local Secretary of State to be apostilled. Some marriage and birth certificates do not require notarization before being apostilled. Â

Our apostille service
The apostille process can be a stressful and difficult process, especially if you don’t live near the government offices your document requires, you’re currently overseas, or you just don’t have the time or desire to deal with the intricacies of the process.Â
Due to these factors, we offer a comprehensive service where we do the entire apostille process for you to help get you overseas and teaching abroad as soon as possible!
Do you meet one of the following criteria?
If so, please fill out our document apostille request form so that we can get in touch with you and begin the document apostille process as soon as possible!
Now that your documents have an apostille, ship the required documents (hard copies) to your employer in Korea. Use a traceable service such as UPS or FedEx.Â
The school will then apply for your visa authorization number through the ministry of justice. This is typically issued within 7-10 days and you will need to include the number on your visa application at the Korean consulate.Â
Now that you have your visa authorization number it is time to apply for your E-2 visa through the Korean consulate. This can be done in-person or through an agent. Here’s some information about the process and requirements. This step will take anywhere from 1-5 days during normal processing time so if you don’t live near the consulate, it’s probably best to use an agent.Â
