The Teaching Nomad Team

Brett is an entrepreneur originally from Colorado. He brings with him many years of professional experience in different fields including both human resources & recruiting. He handles much of the day-to-day operations and business development at Teaching Nomad. Brett also lived in Shanghai for five years before opening TN’s Denver office in 2016.

Mike was born in Chicago and will stop at nothing to tell you that Chicago-style pizza is the best pizza in the world. Mike has a background in marketing, as well as experience teaching in China, which inspires him to help other teachers find their dream job. Mike enjoys listening to and playing music, playing various sports, and religiously watch the Chicago Cubs.

Brendan grew up in Colorado, and he has traveled to 11 other countries. His passions include travel, golf, and coaching sports. In his final year of school, Brendan began working for the CU Boulder study abroad office where he found his passion for international education, which eventually brought him to Teaching Nomad.

Lauren grew up in Kansas. She graduated from K-State with a Secondary Education degree. After graduating, she moved to Taiwan where she taught primary & secondary students. She had a wonderful experience abroad and hopes to help others have the same experience! She also enjoys eating endless amounts of hotpot & making her own kombucha!

Jayne is from a town just outside London, England, and she has earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree. Her love for people and passion for helping others has drawn her to a career in recruitment at Teaching Nomad. Jayne loves to travel and has spent a lot of time visiting Hong Kong and China. She enjoys charity work and learning Chinese.

Brenna was born and raised in Colorado. She’s interested in design, front-end web development, advertising, and content creation. She also loves traveling, camping, hiking, and snowboarding. Her passion for world travel and helping others achieve their dream jobs are the main things that brought her to Teaching Nomad.

Mary is a Chinese native who comes from a beautiful city – Jiangshan, in Zhejiang Province. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at East China University of Science and Technology. She is an outgoing person, and she is a devoted mum and dog lover. The things she loves most are growing plants, hanging with friends, cycling, and reading.

Amanda grew up in Arizona and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught 4th grade science before moving to colorful Colorado. In Amanda’s free time, she loves to do puzzles, go to movies, spend time outdoors, and play board games.

Jesse grew up in Colorado. She attended Beloit College and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science. Outside of the office, you can find her baking, playing board games, or organizing video game tournaments. Jesse connected with Teaching Nomad through a shared belief in helping others get where they’re going.

Flavio holds a BS in Computer Engineering and a Certificate in Quantitative Finance. After obtaining his CELTA certificate in New York, he discovered his passion for English Education. He has taught in kindergartens, training centers, and companies. Flavio is committed to helping teachers reach their full potential.

Sean is from Toledo, Ohio and attended the University of Colorado. He has spent time living and working in South Korea, Vietnam, and Colombia. He completed his CELTA training course before returning to Colorado and teaching at C.U. – Denver. Sean is passionate about travel, foreign languages, and the expat teaching community.
